On the occasion of International Day of the Deaf, Dr. Rao’s ENT marked a deeply meaningful milestone as nine children received their cochlear implant switch-ons. Each switch-on represented the beginning of a new journey toward hearing, communication, learning, and greater connection with the world around them. For Dr. Shree Rao and the entire team, the occasion was a reminder of the privilege of helping children access the gift of sound and supporting them as they take their first steps toward hearing.
The celebration also recognized the trust and commitment of the parents who stood beside their children throughout their hearing journey. Every child’s path is supported by the dedication of their family, medical team, and rehabilitation professionals. With early intervention, cochlear implants, and continued support, children with severe hearing loss can have greater opportunities to develop speech and communication skills. This International Day of the Deaf, the nine switch-ons marked not an ending, but nine new beginnings, as these children heard the start of a new chapter in their lives.
