Dr. Shree Rao recently delivered an impactful session titled From Silence to Sound at the IMA Telangana Conference 2025 addressing an audience of over 500 healthcare professionals. The presentation focused on the transformative impact of cochlear implants which are electronic medical devices that provide a sense of sound to individuals with severe hearing loss by bypassing damaged parts of the inner ear. During the session Dr. Shree Rao emphasized the critical importance of early intervention which refers to the process of detecting and treating hearing challenges in infants and young children to ensure they develop speech and language skills on par with their peers. By sharing clinical insights and success stories she illustrated how silence can be replaced by sound and isolation by opportunity when modern technology is paired with timely medical action.
The lecture sparked extensive discussions among the 200 doctors and audiologists in attendance regarding the future of hearing rehabilitation in India. Dr. Shree Rao highlighted that achieving a deaf free India requires a collaborative effort between surgeons and families and rehabilitation specialists to ensure long term success for every patient. This multidisciplinary approach ensures that the surgical procedure is supported by ongoing therapy to help children listen and learn and live fully. As the Director of the Cochlear Implant Program at Dr. Rao’s ENT, Dr. Shree Rao continues to lead the way in making these life changing solutions more accessible and providing hope to those affected by hearing impairment.
